empowering brands through insights, innovation + advocacy
Features

A unique toolset of levers allows you and your customers to share ideas and opinions through a media rich conversation. This collaborative experience is the highest level of customer engagement, giving your customers the unique privilege of impacting the future development of the brand and its products or services.

Recruitment

Passenger has developed a significantly streamlined recruitment process by which members are recruited, qualified and registered for a community in a few simple steps.  Users are invited into this process via emailed registration links, which are generated by the product and contain encrypted, moderator-provided registration codes.  These codes are tied to member account information and can be used to track members to a recruitment tactic or customer database ID.

Qualification

Registration links can be configured to direct a potential member to the Qualification page or directly into the community registration process.  If Qualification is required, the member will be brought through a configurable survey page designed to disqualify potential members who select undesired attributes (age, gender, profession, etc) determined by the client.  Members who qualify will be passed directly to the account creation process, eliminating the need for a temporary login email.

Registration

The Registration process allows potential members to access the community quickly and easily, allowing some members to be directed to qualification while others are passed directly to the account creation process.  During account creation, members will be required to provide a username and password, then asked to respond to a configurable set of demographic questions. Once this is completed, the member account will be created and the user will have immediate access to the community homepage and events.

Activation

Upon completion of the registration process, an activation link is sent to the email address provided by the member.  The member must click this link to activate their account and confirm that the email address they provided is valid. This feature ensures community emails are being sent to the person opting in to receive the communications.  The Activation feature allows qualified potential members to access the community homepage and preview community content prior to activation of their account.  While members can view the homepage prior to activation, members cannot participate in events and will not receive community emails until the account has been activated by the member.

Account + preferences

Member accounts within the Passenger community have been enhanced to improve the relevance of information and make member management of account information, preferences and settings more efficient.  The member account will contain a limited number of configurable demographic questions that members will be prompted to update, should a question change.  Within the preferences area members will be asked to respond to a configurable set of interest and affinity questions, as well as controlling the frequency of external email communications.

Activities
Activities allow members to provide direct responses to a series of defined questions.  Normalized responses allow for simple measurement of member submissions and allow the clients and moderators to more efficiently identify interesting or relevant qualitative  submissions.  The enhanced Activities integrate a variety of templates to simplify creation, as well as increase engagement through the addition of drag and drop interaction.

Sessions
The Sessions feature has undergone significant interaction updates, allowing both moderators and members to utilize the Session functionality more efficiently.  The Session environment, which can be fully automated, was enlarged by removing headers, footers and member photos. The right half of the Session environment will now be dedicated to live chat, while the left will be focused solely on media and Moderator driven communication. Moderator and Client members will have access to additional Session information, such as upcoming steps, step previews and room participation information. When entering a Session Client members will select which room they would like to join, allowing each room to have a dedicated Client host.

Management + Administration
The new web-based community management and administration features allow moderators and client members to quickly customize and configure the community and its
content. Moderators can create events, manage content, invite and interact with members within the same environment being used by community members. Client members can view current community activity, as well as preview content that has not been approved or published. The WYSIWYG interface, text editor and preview functionality allow both Client and Moderator users to create and publish community content with greater confidence.

User Management
User management now occurs through a simple online interface that allows for creation and management of user accounts on a singular and mass scale. User details can be entered manually (single user accounts) or uploaded as a data file (multiple user ac- counts). Account settings - user type, permissions, permitted age range and more – can now all be managed from one centralized user management center.

Group Management
The new invitation process allows you to create groups of members based on their response to profile and account fields, as well as participation in other existing events (Discussions, Sessions, Activities and Albums). These groups can then be used to control invitation lists for published content. As well as guiding users through the community experience by staggering the pace at which content becomes available to them, creating these dynamic invitation groups around interests and interactions will enable you to present your content to a specific audience. Targeting your content can increase community satisfaction, as members will only be notified of content that is relevant to them.

Homepage
The updated Homepage will feature new and updated content, while also providing a place to highlight important or time sensitive events. Acting as a portal, or community snapshot, it will be the place to communicate directly to your members on the purpose and position of your Community.

Blasts & notifications
Blasts are media rich messages that can be sent to the entire Community, or to a list of specific individuals or dynamic user groups. Members will be able to see new and archived Blasts from any part of the Community. Recipients can comment on Blasts, al lowing you to communicate with your Community and gather valuable insights at every opportunity.

Discussion & Association
Discussion boards now encourage deeper communication between community members, using the first post in a Discussion to stage the topic and tone of the conversation. Members can rate posts, flag inappropriate content, and even start their own discussions. You will be able to associate content with Discussion boards, allowing Activities and Albums to be attached to a post and made available to anyone viewing the Discussion. To maintain the seamless user experience, users can then access this content without leaving the Discussion board itself.

Albums
The enhanced Albums will now support mixed media, and users can rate and comment on Album files as well as submit their own. Album settings – including supported file types, maximum file sizes, approval settings, and deadlines for comments, rating, and file submission – are managed within an intuitive, easy to use configuration area. Increasing the number of ways with which the Community can interact with your media provides yet more opportunities to seek feedback and engage your users.

People
The people section allows all members to view a gallery of the community.  All member types, including customers, clients and moderators can filter and sort this gallery by user type and participation. Clients and Moderators can view all the Account and Preference information for a particular member by clicking on that person’s member badge.  In a second phase we will be rolling out Member Profile pages, which include the ability for members to comment on each other’s profile, view that members participation and see publicly available profile info from their Account and Preferences.

Media
Passenger will convert all media (audio, video, images and text) uploaded by any member of the community.   The media will be displayed in high quality, at appropriate sizes and in the following formats; Image: JPEG, Audio: MP3, Video: FLV, Text: PDF  Media can be embedded into Discussions using a simple link from providers like; facebook, flickr and youtube.
